• Brian Mah, Director

    After ten years of experience at Imaginary Forces, Director / Creative Director Brian Mah has been able to create a diverse body of work with a wide spectrum of exciting brands. His design background enables him to design singular brand solutions or cohesive systems across large scale campaigns. His wide breadth of commercial work has included clients such as Nike, Ford, McDonalds, Google, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Patron, Honda, and American Express. He has designed and directed main titles for feature films including The LEGO Movie, and both films in the 21 Jump Street franchise. He has helmed broadcast packages and promos for networks including USA, Science Channel, National Geographic, Cartoon Network, and Spike TV. He has created print work for Visionaire, V Magazine, Xefirotarch and IBM. In the realm of experience design, he has collaborated directly with clients such as Gehry & Partners, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Airbus. He has lectured across the country for the AIGA and has taught classes at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI Arc). His work has been honored in many international publications and awards.

  • James Anderson, VFX & Animation Supervisor

    Over the last decade James has lent his expertise as a 3D animator, designer, and VFX supervisor to many of the top studios in Los Angeles. He has led animation teams on a multitude of projects for a variety of high-profile clients, including: Sony, Microsoft, HP, Nike, Disney, Discovery Channel, HBO, BMW, Honda and American Express. In 2006, Brian and James met at Imaginary Forces where they discovered their work ethic, attention to detail, and design sensibilities were complementary. They’ve been collaborating ever since.

  • Ben Apley, Executive Producer

    Before joining Alma Mater, Ben spent 11 years running the Los Angeles office of Imaginary Forces. During his time there, he oversaw a wide range of critically-acclaimed and award-winning work ranging from global commercial campaigns, branding and strategy, feature / entertainment marketing, and original series and branded content. His clients range from Dolby, Facebook, Google, Marvel, and Amazon, as well as multiple agencies, networks, and studios.
